Gentle Dental Arts is committed to providing our patients with relaxing, pain-free dentistry.  We understand it only takes one unpleasant, painful appointment to create a lifelong dental phobia.  For the anxious patient, Oral Sedation redefines the dental experience.  Imagine taking a pill and waking up to a new smile.  With this amazing technique, that is a reality.

FAQ's about Oral Sedation:

Q:  Will I feel any pain or discomfort during the procedure?  No!  With Oral Sedation, you will sleep through the entire procedure.

Q:  Will I be unconscious during the apppointment?  No.  You will sleep, but just like normal night-time sleep, you can be aroused and will respond to requests.

Q:  Is conscious sedation safe?  Yes, it is very safe.  Our patients are monitored at all times with a pulse oximeter which tells us their heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital information.  The amount of medication given to a patient is determined by their reponse to it.  It is carefully adjusted.

Q:  Can I drive to my appointment?  Absolutely not.  It is necessary to have someone drop you off to your appointment and pick you up afterwards.

Q:  Can I work after my appointment?  We don't suggest you return to work.  Most people find they want to continue relaxing or sleeping for the rest of the day.  Most of our pati

At Gentle Dental Arts, we utilize CEREC technology to fabricate beautiful, all-porcelain crowns and veneers.  This eliminates the normal two visit procedure of having the tooth prepared, impression taken, and temporary crown cemented on the first visit followed by a two-three week waiting period only to return to have the permanent restoration cemented.  With CEREC, the restorations are made in a single visit.  Yes, Single Visit as in the Same Day!  No waiting, no temporaries coming off, no sensitivity from ill-fitting temporary crowns,  and no interupting your life on two different days.  We love this technology, and we are certain you will love it too.

A daily occurence at Gentle Dental Arts is one of our patients complaining of generalized tooth sensitivity.  Studies have shown this is one of the most common dental problems in our country today.  With people keeping their teeth longer into their advanced years, this leaves more root surfaces exposed which can be sensitive to hot and cold drinks or even breathing in cold air.  Application of resins and fluoride have proved to be key in eliminating sensitivity.  An additional benefit of adult fluoride use is a 75% decrease in cavities.  That's something we can all live with.

Your jaw is the key to unlock the power you never knew was there.  Use the appliance worn by many of our Team USA Winter Olympic athletes.  Using the same principle utilized by ancient Greek atheletes and Viking warriors who bit on leather straps during competition and battle for an edge in competition, Under Armour Mouthwear could be the key to unlocking the inner warrior in you.  For more information, contact our office or www.underarmour.com.  It really works!

Most people associate snoring with a mild-to-major annoyance when they keep awake or are kept awake by their significant other.  Actually, snoring can be the sign of a much more serious problem such as sleep apnea.  Sleep apnea can contribute to poor blood oxygenation and even heart attack or stroke.  Dental appliances are the key to a much more cost effective and comfortable aternative for a better night's sleep for all concerned.  For more information, call our office at (801) 224-1117 or visit www.glidewelldental.com

We work with the very best dental specialists in the community for dental implant placement.  In order for a dental implant supported restoration to look, feel, and function like a tooth, it is critical that it be placed properly.  Don't be taken in by claims of a quick, one-day fix.  Hey, we are in this for the long hall--let's do it right.  Please call our office at  (801) 224-1117 or visit www.utahvalleyperiodontics.com.
