We would like to welcome you to our Riverside dental office. We offer quality general and cosmetic dentistry in a warm, relaxed, and comfortable environment ( we offer aromatic spa wraps, blankets and pillows to make your visit more comfortable). Services We Offer
Amalgam Fillings:
Restorations are used to protect and preserve damaged teeth.The most well known and commonly used dental restorative materials for back teeth is silver amalgam. Silver fillings are the lowest cost and have been used for more than 150 years. They can be placed easily and rapidly and have served well for many years in small to moderate size cavities.
Procedure:
The doctor will prepare the tooth for the restoration by removing the decayed portion of the tooth. He will place a fluoride-based liner in the preparation to help prevent sensitivity to hot and cold. The amalgam is then packed into a carrier to be transported to the tooth. The doctor will condense the amalgam into the tooth preparation and finish by carving the excess filling material and polishing the filling.
Education
Dr. Appelbaum graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. He is a member of the American Dental Association and R.I. Dental Association. He has served the community since 1976. He takes the expression "We Cater to Cowards" to the next level. His main concern is the well-being of his patients. He is married and has three children.
